My final issue of Captain Marvel opened doors for my characters that I never got to step through with them.
Once I’d made the decision to separate Marvel from Rick Jones—which happened in Captain Marvel #50—they needed to figure out what it was they’d do with their now-separate lives, and this was the issue that had them starting to figure out what was next.
The issue was penciled by Pat Broderick, who I felt did a wonderful job of capturing Captain Marvel’s cosmicness.
